Episode 12: Knock Knock - (Daniel LaPlante)
Tuesday Apr 28, 2020
Tuesday Apr 28, 2020
Home Sweet home, a place we're all stuck in for right now, but usually, it is where we can always return to feel safe. What happens though, when we find out that safety is all a facade, and that our home can be compromised far more easily than we imagined. This week WWBD covers the crimes of Daniel Laplante, a man so mysterious and terrifying that he has become the source of many an internet myth, scary movie and urban legend. While there are a lot of embellished versions of this story out there, WWBD is here to bring you the truth. This case however, shows us that sometimes truth can be stranger than fiction. Lock your doors and look over your shoulders, because this week the monster isn't outside your door, he's under your bed.

On January 15th, 1947, Elizabeth Short's dead, mutilated body was found in a vacant lot just steps away from the sidewalk. Elizabeth was naked, battered and cut cleanly in half at the waist... and that is where we left off in part one
From the look of it a doctor had clearly been involved in this murder, but this was surely not a case of surgery gone wrong, this was a purposeful act. But who would do such a thing, and why? The answers to these questions have taken WWBD on a wild ride that we share with you this week in the second installment of our exploration of The Black Dahlia murder. WWBD takes a deep dive into two major theories and touches on some of the other, more fanciful suspects.

Tuesday Apr 14, 2020
Tuesday Apr 14, 2020
On January 15th, 1947, Elizabeth Short's dead, mutilated body was found in a vacant lot just steps away from the sidewalk. Elizabeth was naked, battered and cut cleanly in half at the waist...But before we explore what happened to Elizabeth, it's only fair that we find out who she was.
It's our tenth episode, and you guys chose a doozie! This week WWBD begins the complicated story of Elizabeth Short, better known as "The Black Dahlia". This case might just be the most famous unsolved murder in the history of murders, in fact the LAPD still uses it as a teaching tool. In this first installment we will get to know Elizabeth and the situation in which she was found. Next week we will explore the crime scene, investigation, legal action and suspects.

Episode 9 - The Devil is in the Details (Annelise Michel)
Wednesday Apr 08, 2020
Wednesday Apr 08, 2020
In July of 1976, in the small town of Klingenberg Germany, coroners arrived at the well appointed home of the Michel family. A young woman had died in her home, surrounded by the people she loved most. She had been ill, and there was clergy on hand who had delivered last rites. The case sounded cut and dry enough, and they didn't expect any complications. That is until they entered the room where the young woman lay dead. Something had gone horribly, horribly wrong.
This week WWBD explores the haunting story of the supposed demonic possession, exorcism, and negligent murder of Annelise Michel. Was Annelise possessed by demons, or was she simply a victim of misjudged mental and physical illness? Where do we draw the line between the spiritual and the physical? Whatever the answers may be, a young woman died horribly in the spaces between them, and we endeavor to explain why.

Episode 5 - Down With the Sickness (The Slenderman Stabbing)
Tuesday Mar 10, 2020
Tuesday Mar 10, 2020
Crowd sourced mythology, a globally created boogeyman, Slenderman truly is the monster under everyone's bed. Slender's story unites all of our worst fears into one, faceless, shade. What started out as a long campfire tale, where everyone adds their own spooky sentence turned into a bloody reality for three young girls in the little town of Waukesha Wisconsin on May 31, 2014. This week Holly and Leslie share the very first recording they made as a team, and learn to never underestimate the mind of a child.

Episode 3 - "Baby, You're Already Dead" (Daniel Wozniak)
Tuesday Feb 25, 2020
Tuesday Feb 25, 2020
On Saturday, May 22, 2010, authorities were called to the home of army veteran Sam Herr. The cold and lifeless body of Julie Kibuishi lay on his bed, apparently having struggled through a sexual assault that ended in a gunshot. Sam was nowhere to be found. The story seems pretty cut and dry; it was anything but. Daniel Wozniak was one convincing performance away from committing the perfect crime and walking off into the sunset. Unfortunately for him, he just wasn't that good of an actor.
